What Are Winters Like in Reno, NV?

Thinking about winters here in Reno, Nevada, here’s what it’s really like.

The heart of winters in Reno typically run from December through February. In these months daytime highs are typically in the 40s to 50s with daytime lows being in the 20s and 30s at night.

During these months Reno receives around five to six inches of snow per month on average with about six days a month being snow. Take this with a grain of salt. Winters in Reno can be unpredictable and often vary from the averages.

It’s also worth saying that because of the Sierra Nevada mountains Reno is in a rain shadow meaning we get less snow than the mountains but we have world-class skiing and snow so short drive away.

With nearly 300 days a year of sunshine, winters here seem a little bit brighter.
